Aussie-born Kiwi Dustin Martin is the most talked about player in Australian Rules Football, so the rumour mill went into overdrive when he was spotted slipping out of Melbourne for Auckland this morning.

The Richmond star dodged all media as he touched down at Auckland Airport.

It's been revealed he has the week off due to a calf injury, so he's using that time to visit his father Shane who's been barred from returning to Australia because of gang links.

His club confirmed the trip wasn't planned.

The 26-year-old won the AFL's top award, the Brownlow Medal, last year and will miss his first game since 2014 this week.
