A Zimbabwean woman who lost her arm in a terrifying crocodile attack got married just five days later at the hospital where she was treated.
Zanele Ndlovu and her now-husband Jamie Fox were on a kayaking trip on the Zambezi river when she was attacked by a crocodile and pulled under the water.
The 25-year-old told the BBC she thought she was going to die, but then decided to keep fighting.
"It took us a couple of seconds to realise it was actually a real crocodile," Zanele said.
"My first thought was: 'I am going to die.' The water was now bloody.
"But then, after a while, I thought: 'No, let me just fight.' I just kind of hung in there until the tour guides were able to save me and get me onto their canoe."
Her arm was amputated, and while recovering in a hospital in Bulawayo, the couple told doctors that they were due to be married on May 5.
The doctors said they would wait and see how Zanele was recovering from her injury, but that it might be possible to hold a wedding in the hospital's chapel.
The pair jumped at the chance, inviting close friends - although fewer of them than could have fit in the originally-planned venue - to witness the wedding.
"Life is unpredictable," Zanele told the BBC.
"You know when they say when you make plans, God laughs? That makes so much more sense to me now.
"Obviously it is going to take some time to adjust to this new life, but I think so far we are handling it."
