'He's a genuinely honest, kind man' - Soldiers from Prince Harry's regiment voice their pride at playing role in upcoming wedding

With only 10 days to go before Prince Harry marries American actress Meghan Markle 1 NEWS caught up with some of the armed forces personnel who served with Prince Harry who are taking part in the ceremony.

Prince Harry served 10 years with the regiment in the Blues and Royals undertaking two tours of Afghanistan and rising to the rank of captain.

"I think it adds that extra layer of pride knowing him and knowing that he's found someone he's going to spend the rest of his life with," Corporal Major Daniel Snoxell told 1 NEWS.

Lance Corporal of Horse Frankie O'Leary was Prince Harry's driver on operations in Afghanistan in 2007 and he'll be part of the mounted escort.

"He cared about his men a lot, succinct and to the point, I think he's a genuinely honest kind man," Lance Corporal O'Leary said.

The support meaning Prince Harry and Meghan Markle know they will be well protected when their wedding day arrives May 20.
