Hurricanes vice-captain TJ Perenara will make his return to the pitch against the Blues tomorrow night with the halfback missing the last three matches for the Canes due to a knee injury.
Through hard work, determination and perhaps a bit of good luck, Perenara is back in the Hurricanes jersey sooner than expected.
"If there's one guy who can halve the recovery time, it's TJ Perenara," said Hurricanes star first-five eighth Beauden Barrett.
"He's a hundy. He's one of the most enthusiastic, hardest workers I know. And I'm not surprised to see him back here so soon."
Perenara has been out of action for the Canes after suffering a knee injury against the Sharks last month.
While the vice-skipper returns Vince Aso who was initially named to start on the right wing has picked up a wrist injury that will see him side-lined for several weeks.
"If he's got some sort of damage, which we're pretty sure he has, I don't think we'll see him again before June," said Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd.
Jordie Barrett who was originally left out of the team with an ankle injury has been named on the bench with Nehe Milner-Skudder holding onto the No.15 jersey.
