Pair arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot man on Auckland's Queen St

Two men have been arrested after a robbery and high-speed chase on Auckland’s Southwestern motorway early this morning.

At about 2.15am two people allegedly threatened a man on Auckland's Queen Street, stealing his wallet and phone, Police told 1 NEWS.

It was reported the pair were threatening to shoot the man, according to Newshub.

They then fled the scene in a car, travelling at speeds up to 150km/h on the southwestern motorway as they were followed by the Police Eagle helicopter.

They dumped the car and attempted to hide in bushes in Onehunga where they were arrested by the Armed Offenders Squad.

The victim is reportedly shaken but unharmed.
