Firefighters in the US city of Boise, Idaho recorded the quacks of the mother duck and played them back to lure ducklings out of a drain hole to safety.
The Boise Fire Department posted video of the situation on their Facebook page today, calling it "a happy early Mother's Day gift for this mom duck".
In the video, firefighters can be seen crouching over a drain where several ducklings have fallen down, while the worried mother duck looks on from a safe distance.
One by one the ducklings are rescued using the ingenious method of using the mother's own calls to draw them out.
All of the ducklings were returned safely.
