The Hurricanes are remaining cautious over the fitness of youngster Jordie Barrett, after the fullback was withdrawn from the side's clash against the Lions in Wellington last Saturday.
Barrett, 21, was originally listed to start at fullback in the Hurricanes' 28-19 win at Westpac Stadium, before suffering an ankle injury in the warm up.
Speaking at the team's training today, assistant coach Jason Holland gave an update on Barrett's condition.
"We're not sure yet," he said.
"We just have to see the next few days go, how he comes along with that ankle. But we're not going to risk him if he's not right."
However, Holland also refused to rule the youngest Barrett out of the Hurricanes' next match against the Blues.
"We're still not sure yet."
"Jordie wants to play, we want to give him the opportunity to play.
"We'll give him another couple of days and see how that pans out, but we'll probably know by tomorrow night whether or not he's ready to go."
The Hurricanes face the Blues at Eden Park on Friday.
