Former England football star David Beckham became emotional after receiving an unexpected surprise on his 43rd birthday.

Video taken by his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, captured the sweet moment Brooklyn Beckham, 19, surprises his dad by jetting back from New York to join him on his birthday in the UK.

"What are you doing here?" David repeats emotionally as Brooklyn hugs his dad.

The video has been viewed over 10 million times since being posted to Victoria Beckham's Instagram account.

She captioned the video with the message: "The biggest surprise of the day.... Welcome home @brooklynbeckham X happy birthday @davidbeckham I love u so much x kisses."
