Driver injured after road roller falls 20m down bank near Queenstown

The driver of a road roller has been rescued from the vehicle after it fell 20 metres down a bank near Queenstown.

Emergency services were notified of the incident on the Kingston Road near Jack’s Point around 3.45pm today.

Three fire crews attended the accident and used rope lines to get the driver back to the road.

Southern Fire Communications confirm the male driver suffered moderate injuries and is in the care of St John Ambulance staff.
