Watch: Samuel L Jackson lukewarm on Kanye West after pro-Donald Trump tweets

April 27, 2018

Samuel L. Jackson says he's not exactly clamoring for new Kanye West music after the musician's pro-Trump tweets.

The veteran actor tweeted about West with a reference to a J. Cole rap song, saying "(hashtag) shall we save him, (hashtag) he don't wanna be saved."

"If he's trying to sell music, apparently he's cultivating a new audience, so I don't know," Jackson said at the CinemaCon theatre owners convention in Las Vegas.

"It's got nothing to do with fandom. It's politics, state of the world. Fanning is not one of those things I do, anyway. I mean, I listen to his music. I can appreciate it on a certain level - the poetry of it, sometimes the thought that goes into it. I may or may not go out of my way to get the next one. It all depends," Jackson said.
