Two men face drug charges after a police raid early this morning on a commercial property in Lower Hutt, targeting gang offending in the Hutt Valley.

Police say they executed a pre-planned search warrant at a commercial address on George Street in Stokes Valley shortly after 6am.

The raid involved AOS, CIB, local officers and specialist search teams.

Two men aged 48 and 53 have been arrested and will face drugs related charges.

They're currently being interviewed by Police.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Sears of the Hutt Valley CIB says the warrant targeted gang activity and offending across the Hutt Valley.

"We have had numerous calls from locals concerned about the activities at this address and the growing presence of gang members in the area," Mr Sears said in a statement.

"Gangs exist to make money from criminal offending such as the manufacturing and distribution of drugs like methamphetamine and while they continue to offend, they will be targeted by police," he said.

"I hope the swift and decisive action taken today sends a message that the community and police will work together to disrupt this type of offending," Mr Sears said.
