An NBA reporter has learned a rough lesson in manners thanks to Kiwi star Steven Adams putting him in his place.

Adams was answering questions for media ahead of their second playoff game against the Utah Jazz later today when one reporter spoke over the top of Adams to ask a question, despite the Kiwi centre still finishing his answer.

Adams immediately stopped and stared at the interrupter.

"You alright, mate?" he asked.

The reporter immediately apologised but Adams decided to have a bit of fun, leaning over to another reporter to poke a bit of fun at the situation.

"Old mate, eh? Jesus. As you were saying, sir."

The reporter asked Adams what the team's plan was to reduce the number of points scored closed to the basket, which Adams was happy to answer - with no one interrupting him.

The Thunder play the Jazz at 12pm today after taking a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series with a 116-108 win on Monday.
