Mika Vukona's shock departure from the New Zealand Breakers has been confirmed overnight, with the club legend signing a two-year deal to link up with the Brisbane Bullets and reunite with former coach Andrej Lemanis.
Vukona played 13 seasons for the Breakers over two stints, winning three championships during the Kiwi NBL club's historic threepeat between 2011-2013.
Lemanis was the coach of the dominant Breakers team at the time.
Vukona also played one season each at the South Dragons and Gold Coast Blaze.
The Kiwi forward will also team up with fellow Tall Black Reuben Te Rangi in Brisbane after he also signed a new deal to remain in Brisbane.
Stuff reports The 35-year-old Fijian-born New Zealander was reportedly told he was no longer a starter for the Breakers by the club's new ownership.
Vukona averaged just 6.2 points and 6.0 rebounds in 20.9 minutes in the 2017-18 ANBL season, shooting 54 per cent from the floor and 42 percent from the free-throw line.
The Bullets have also managed to snag the signature of Australia Boomers guard Cam Gliddon from Cairns on a new three-year-deal as Lemanis continues his efforts to build the team since they rejoined the NBL for the 2016 season.
The Brisbane side has finished last in its first two seasons back.
