Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she will stress to her British counterpart Theresa May overnight that New Zealand is ready to start free trade negotiations as soon as the UK exits the European Union next March.
Ms Ardern is now in London for the next stop of her European tour with a packed schedule of meetings with world leaders overnight, NZ time.
She arrived after visiting Berlin where German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the most powerful woman in Europe, described New Zealand's relationship with Germany as truly excellent.
1 NEWS Europe correspondent Joy Reid, reporting from London, says the Prime Minister's most notable meeting overnight will be with British Prime Minister Theresa May where Jacinda Ardern has made clear that she wants trade to be very much on the agenda.
"And she says that she's going to be stressing to Theresa May that New Zealand is poised and ready to start free trade negotiations just as soon as Brexit occurs and the UK exits the EU in March next year," Reid reported.
Ms Ardern's first meeting in London will be with her Five Eyes counterparts where no doubt Syria is gong to be on the agenda, Reid said.
"And let's not forget that Jacinda Ardern is the only Five Eyes leader not to have come out and wholeheartedly supported those missile strikes in Syria recently."

Five Eyes is an intelligence alliance comprising the UK, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
In Berlin, Ms Ardern subtly changed her language on the joint missile strikes on Syria by the US, France and the UK, carried out in the wake of the suspected chemical attack on civilians.
"Whilst we absolutely maintain the need to first and foremost seek resolution through the likes of the UN, we utterly accept the use of alternative means to address what has to be challenged, and that is a blatant breach of international law," she said.
However Ms Ardern later said adding the word "utterly" does not strengthen her stance.
Ms Ardern is also going to be meeting royalty in London overnight.
She has a sit down with Prince Charles, and overnight Thursday NZT she has a special one-on-one with the Queen.
