It's been "a long two weeks" for Kiwi squash player Joelle King, but her Commonwealth Games have ended on a high having won gold in the women’s doubles alongside Amanda Landers-Murphy.
The duo downed India's Joshna Chinappa and Dipika Pallikal Karthik 11-9 11-8 at Oxenford Studios on the Gold Coast today, the final day of the Games.
Earlier in the Games King won gold in the women's singles and bronze in the mixed doubles.
"It hasn't really sunk in yet," she told 1 NEWS after today's win.
Beating defending gold medallists India 2-0 was a "pretty good feeling" for the pair.
"We're good mates off the court and I think that's the thing with our whole team and it really shows when we get out on court together, we're not just playing for the two on the court, but for everyone out the back as well.
"I was just enjoying being a spectator and watching Amanda do what she does, and just super proud of what she’s achieved, she played like a champ this week."
The pair credited much of their success to the support they’ve had from family and friends over in the Gold Coast.
"All our families have been supporting everyone and we're all lucky that we have those people behind us, and it really wouldn’t happen without their support," said King.
