Lawn Bowls' para trio are hoping to encourage others into sport with their Silver medal win at Commonwealth Games.
The medal winning B6/7/8 open triples team of Bruce Wakefield, Barry Wynks and Mark Noble came in second to Australia, who won 14-13 in the last bowl.
Although the medal win was a case of déjà vu for Noble and Wynks who came in second in Glasgow after losing on the final bowl, the trio were still happy to stand on the podium.
"There's nothing like being up there, it’s bloody brilliant, absolutely awesome," Noble told 1 NEWS at a medal celebration.
But it's not just about glory, the three friends are hoping to inspire other Kiwis to take up the sport, which they say is great for the camaraderie among other things
"It can only do the sport good by seeing success from all different people from all walks of life, and all disabilities," Wakefield said.
"All three of us have our own issues, but we all come together as a team and play as one, and hopefully any disabled person out there gets encouraged to take up bowls, or any other normal able bodied person gets encouraged to take up bowls."
"It's got to be the greatest feeling you can have, representing your country."
And the trio hope to have that feeling again and possibly a gold medal in four years' time at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
