Tongan rugby player Sione Vaiomounga, who has been trapped in Romania on dialysis, is recovering well from his kidney transplant.
The star player will remain in the transplant renal ward in Cluj-Napoca for another two weeks.
The next hurdle for Sione and his family will be moving out of their flat into somewhere cleaner and more modern, as Sione is highly susceptible to infection.
He will also be required to stay in Romania for another year for post-operation monitoring and then he and his family want to return to Tonga.
Daniel Leo of Pacific Rugby Welfare said "we would like to thank the medical team led by Dr Pricop for fast-tracking his transplant".
The kidney donor has asked for their details to remain anonymous.
