Firefighters battling large house fire in Dunedin

Seven fire crews are battling a large, two storey house fire in Dunedin this morning.

The Fire Service were called to the property on Seal Point Road on Otago Peninsula around 4:20am.

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson says two thirds of the building is well ablaze.

It's understood no one was home when the fire broke out.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
