A below-par effort from Kiwi diver Liam Stone saw him miss a spot in the 1m springboard finals at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
Stone totalled just 255.90 from his six dives to place him 13th, just three points behind the last man to reach tonight's medal round, Australia's Kurtis Mathews.
His total was well down on his best scores, which has seen him pass 400.
"I'm gutted, it was a tough day, but this is my first event, got all my stuff out of the way, there's nothing I can do about it now," the 21-year-old University of Tennessee student told 1 NEWS' Abby Wilson.
He said it was his lowest score "in a while", but he was determined to use the motivation to go better in his next event, the 3m springboard.
