Auckland continues to suffer bad weather after extreme winds caused widespread disruption including power cuts and dangerous driving conditions overnight and into today.

1 NEWS captured footage of a tree fallen across a road in the central suburb of Sandringham. It's one of many trees toppled by strong winds that reached 213km/h at their peak.
