Locals to the rescue after catamaran blocks road in Mount Maunganui

Locals have helped move a catamaran after it was found blocking a road in the Bay of Plenty.

Four boats were also found strewn on the road in Pilot Bay, Mount Maunganui, at 1.09pm today.

The boats were chained together on the grass verge when a gust of wind blew them away.

No one was injured and no cars were damaged following the incident.

The owners of the boats have been notified.

A strong gust of wind also blew a coffee trailer into a parked car around the time of the incident.
