Ronda Rousey competed in her first ever professional wrestling match for WWE on Sunday and she made sure it was one to remember.

After months of build up to the her fight at Wrestlemania following her shock decision to quit the UFC last year, Rousey teamed up with WWE legend Kurt Angle to take on another icon, Triple H, and his wife Stephanie McMahon.

Rousey said after winning the tag-team match in front of 78,133 fans at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans she was absolutely ecstatic by the atmosphere.

"After my wedding day, this is my favourite day," she said backstage.

Angle said despite the match being her first in the WWE, she had done exceptionally well.

"Ronda has been such a quick learner. Not only has she been able to bring in her MMA skills and judo skills, she's a natural in sports entertainment.

"You saw it out there, that's her first match and look how she blew the roof off the joint. Ronda has a big future here, this is what she was meant to do."
