Immigrations NZ's controversial pilot data modelling programme has been halted amid concerns it was using over-stayer data to find out which racial groups pose the most risk.
Immigration Minister Iain Lees-Galloway put the programme on hold today to get further advice.

The pilot programme has been running for 18 months and there have been claims it used data to determine which groups most commonly run up hospital costs or commit crimes.
