Fiji residents are being urged to prepare for Cyclone Keni, now a category 3 cylone, as it bears down on Fiji.
The country's Meteorological Service is warning the cyclone could make landfall over southwest Viti Levu around midday today.
Winds at the centre are around 130 km/h with gusts up to 185 km/h.
The Disaster Management Office is urging residents to have a three day emergency kit at hand.
Fifty-nine evacuation centres are open in the west, which is expected to be the most affected area, with more than 3000 evacuees.
Another nine centres are open in the north with more than 250 people taking shelter there.
A large number of roads are already closed due to flooding.
Cyclone Keni will be the second cyclone to hit Fiji in just days – last weekend six people died in Cyclone Josie.
