Police release name of 74-year-old motorcyclist who died in collision in Mt Maunganui

Police have released the name of a 74-year-old man who died after a serious crash between a truck and a motorcycle in Mount Maunganui yesterday. 

He was Kevin William Akroyd.

Police were called to the scene on Totara St, between Hewletts Rd and Waimarie St, around 9:30am. 

The Serious Crash Unit will continue to investigate the crash.
