Inside Parliament looked at RNZ’s Parliamentary select committee this week over the meeting between Broadcasting Minister Clare Curran and former Head of Content Carol Hirschfeld.

This week RNZ chair Richard Griffin and chief Paul Thompson were called back to a parliamentary select committee to explain why they misled it on March 1.

They both apologised, saying Hirschfeld misled them four times - insisting the meeting had been coincidental - before she admitted the get-together had been planned and resigned the following week.

Now a formal request of a copy of the voicemail left by Ms Curran to Mr Griffin “strongly suggesting” he write a correction letter instead of appearing again has been requested.

Mr Griffin had refused to play it for the committee.

Ms Curran told reporters she was just passing on advice that a written reply would set the record straight faster than having to wait a week for the select committee meeting.
