A warrant has reportedly been issued by New York police to arrest mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor after he turned up to a UFC press conference and violently protested one of his belts being stripped off him and put up for grabs at an upcoming event.
McGregor had his UFC lightweight title stripped off him by the UFC having not defended it since 2016.
The Irish fighter and his entourage stormed into the Barclays Center in New York looking for Khabib Nurmagomedov - one of the fighters competing for his belt at UFC223 - and ended up getting into confrontations with security and other fighters.
McGregor made it to the carpark where he continued his attack, attacking buses which were carrying other UFC fighters on board.
A windscreen was broken in the chaos and fighter Michael Chiesa was injured as a result.
UFC president Dana White told reporters a warrant had been issued to arrest McGregor following the wild attack.
"[The police are] looking for [McGregor] right now. His plane can not take off. He can not leave the State of New York with this warrant. And I'm assuming, eventually, if they don't catch him he'll turn himself in.
"I can imagine he's going to be sued beyond belief," White said. "And it's a real bad career move for him."
White outlined just how bad a move it was to reporters in a possionate spray.
"This is the type of bad decision you make that turns a lot of people against you. He attacked a bus. You don't come into Barclays Center, attack people who in a bus who are fighting the next day, and the worst part is the women who were on the bus.
"They're fighters — Rose is a fighter and Karolina is a fighter — but these goons are throwing bike racks and chairs and things like that through the windows of the bus and didn't care who they hit or who they hurt.
"This is the most disgusting thing that has ever happened in the history of the company."
McGregor hasn't fought in the UFC since November 12, 2016.
