Auckland rush hour crash: Major delays after collision on Southern Motorway

A serious crash on Auckland's Southern Motorway is set to cause major delays during this morning's rush hour.

One person has been seriously injured in the crash involving a truck and a motorbike northbound on the motorway near the Panama Rd overbridge in Mt Wellington.

The two northbound lanes that were blocked have now been cleared.

Police say the crash will cause considerable disruption for motorists who are urged to avoid the area if possible.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
