The exclusion of Australia's meter maids from the Commonwealth Games' opening ceremony is causing outrage for some.
Dressed in revealing gold and blue outfits, the women top up parking meters on the busy streets of the Gold Coast.
Commonwealth Games organisers say the maids are outdated, wanting instead to showcase a more modern and sophisticated Surfer's Paradise.
The meter maids' Kiwi boss, Roberta Aitchison, says their exclusion from the ceremony is "a load of rot".
"It's sort of like the Eiffel Tower in France - you don't bypass that, do you?"
