Hayley Holt's decision to wear an Ed Sheeran T-shirt on air today has been mocked by her fellow TVNZ1 Breakfast presenters.
On Saturday night, Sheeran donned an All Blacks jersey with "Holt" written on the back for his concert in Auckland in response to the Breakfast host's scathing criticism of him earlier this month, when she called him boring and said he did "her head in".
On today's Breakfast show, Holt continued her rapid backtracking, a fact her Breakfast colleagues were only too happy to point out.
Holt, talking tongue and cheek described her Sheeran T-shirt as "sucking up to Ed Sheeran" and Jack Tame agreed and called her clothing choice "shameless".
But she was adamant she regretted nothing, particularly as Sheeran told TVNZ1's Breakfast he respected her opinion.
"I'm not actually backtracking in terms of my opinion but I just think you know, good on him, he definitely played the better game here," Holt said.
"Ed Sheeran wore my name at his concert - top outcome," Holt said.
