Tauranga surfcaster Grant Dodunski took out the 36th Snapper Bonanza Competition at 90 Mile Beach yesterday with a 8.94kg fish.
It’s Mr Dodunski’s second year in the competition. He caught the snapper on day two of the five-day event.

The event was a sell out this year with 1000 entries from all over the country and some from overseas.
