Rail delays near Wellington after police chase trio down train tracks

Train commuters from Kapiti are late to work this morning due to a police incident on the Kapiti line.

At least three people tried to escape police, fleeing their vehicle between Pukerua Bay and Paekakariki near Fisherman’s Table, and ran along the train tracks.

Police and the dog squad perused on foot and have now caught them.

Metlink is still experiencing major delays on the Kapiti Line.
