Driver dies in collision with cattle truck near Rotorua

The driver of a car has died following a collision with a cattle truck north of Rotorua late this afternoon.

The crash occurred on State Highway Five near Tapapa at 4.30pm.

Police say the car driver has died form their injuries.

SH5 is closed between Tapapa and Rotorua while police investigate.

Alternatve routes to Rotorua are SH28 to Tauranga, or SH1 through Tokoroa.
