The trans-Tasman cricketing rivalry between the Black Caps and Australia has cooled down in recent times, according to New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson.
Speaking to media before the two sides contest the final of the T20 tri-series at Eden Park tomorrow night, Williamson said that the current nature of cricket means that players are closer than ever before.
"There's so much, I suppose, franchise cricket that allows you to get to know guys from around the world," Williamson said.
"That's the great thing about sport. There are a number of friendships through these teams."
"But when it's on the park, it's a very competitive atmosphere. Guys get on well, but they still play hard when it comes to getting onto the park, and I'm sure it'll be a good game again tomorrow night."
