Serious car and bus crash leaves one injured, SH1 closed near Timaru

A crash between a bus and a car has left one person with serious injuries and State Highway 1 south of Timaru closed.

The crash happened at 6.50am on Ellis Rd, Salisbury. 

Police say the bus was not carrying any passengers. 

Diversions are currently in place and motorists are warned to expect delays. 

The Serious Crash Unit are on their way to the scene.
