One person was seriously injured after major disorder broke out at Papamoa Beach in Tauranga last night.
The victim was taken by St John ambulance to Tauranga Hospital.
Police say they received reports of a large group of people fighting outside a house in Lyn Grove just before 9pm.
Witnesses reported a number of people fighting with what was thought to be sticks, garden tools and bats.
Several people were seen running through properties and multiple vehicles were seen leaving the address.
Police say there were several witnesses who saw a woman run over by a car outside the address.
The woman is currently in Tauranga Hospital in a stable condition with what is thought to be a broken leg and a shoulder injury.
At least one vehicle was impounded by police.
