Workers now repairing the source of the Morrinsville water leak

Workmen in Morrinsville have located what they think is the source of the water main pipe leak. 

Work is underway on repairing the leak. 

Residents were asked to strictly conserve water while the source of the leak was being located. 

The pipe to the reservoir which feeds the town was leaking earlier today. 

Some properties received no water at all, and for those that were restrictions had been put in place.

Water supplies came from bores and residents had been asked to use water for essential purposes only.

Piako Council said residents could receive water from the tankers at the top end of Young street and at Morrinsville Intermediate.
