A man has died following an incident involving a jet ski in North Canterbury this afternoon.
Emergency services responded to reports of a man on a jet ski in trouble at Kairaki Beach, near the mouth of the Waimakariri River, at 1.20pm.
Local surf lifesavers and the Coastguard were also involved.
The man was pulled out of the water by helicopter and transported to hospital where he later died.
Police say they will be making inquiries into the man's death on behalf of the coroner.
