A man is in hospital in a serious condition after appearing to have been stabbed on Auckland's upmarket Franklin Road last night.
Police were called to the scene between Arthur Street and Heke Street about 10.15pm.
More Police staff were then called in to assist with crowd control, as the street's famous Christmas lights displays had attracted crowds.
Cordons were put in place and were removed at 1am this morning, with Police standing guard at the scene.
They are now seeking information from anyone who may have seen something, or who knows what happened.
