Watch: Thick, black smoke billows from burning pile of tyres near New Plymouth

Thick, black smoke has been billowing from a fire in a pile of tyres at Tarurutangi near New Plymouth this afternoon.

Fire and Emergency NZ told 1 NEWS two fire trucks are at the scene on 93 Manatahi Road.

Firefighters were still trying to contain the fire late this afternoon.

No injuries or property damaged had been reported, a spokesperson said.
