Elderly pedestrian in serious condition following crash in South Auckland

An elderly pedestrian is in a serious condition following a crash in South Auckland. 

The pedestrian was taken to Middlemore hospital after being hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Great South Road and Halver Road, Manurewa

There are currently detours in place and police are asking motorists to avoid the area. 

Police say there is no further information at this stage.
