Valiant Lebanon almost create massive RLWC upset, Mate Ma'a Tonga hold on to secure victory in Christchurch

Mate Ma'a Tonga have defeated Lebanon 24-22 in a thrilling Rugby League World Cup quarter-final match in Christchurch this evening.

The heavy favourites Tonga went into halftime with a 22-16 lead over Lebanon.

Lebanon were denied several tries in the match and showed great courage to almost steal the win over Tonga.

The Pacific nation advance to the semi-finals in Auckland next week where they will play either Papua New Guinea or England.
