Peruvian football fans in New Zealand are celebrating their homeland's qualification for Russia 2018, but aren't forgetting the place they now call home.

Peru beat the All Whites 2-0 in Lima to win through to their first World Cup since 1982.

Fans in this country took to pubs and lounges to watch the match, and were overjoyed with the achievement.

One man told 1 NEWS from an Auckland bar that he loved New Zealand, but had to support Peru.

"I'm very proud of Peru, I love New Zealand, I owe New Zealand a lot but today I had to support Peru."

Anthony Hudson says his team should have been staying nearer their opponents the night before the match. (Source: Other)
