1 NEWS reporter Chris Chang came face-to-face with the perils of live television after being mobbed by Peruvian fans during the 6pm news today.

Chang, a football fan himself, went live in front of a raucous group of fans after Peru's 2-0 win over NZ.

As Chang got near the end of his broadcast, jubilant fans got closer and closer, until one kissed him on the cheek, and another draped him in a Peruvian flag in a good-natured exchange in central Auckland.
