Lorde could barely grasp her haul of six Tuis awards backstage at the Vodafone Music Awards last night, as she reflected on an "emotional" homecoming tour.

Of particular note to the Kiwi pop star was the younger generation of fans she has noticed at her concerts, and the older original fans who continue to support her at the ripe old age of 21.

"The tour's been amazing, it's been so nice to finish it like this, I forget how lucky I am to have the support here, it's amazing to come home and be greeted with this," she said.

Lorde also reflected on the end of her New Zealand tour at Auckland's Powerstation on Wednesday night.

"That was such an emotional show, I feel like we all kind of grew up at the Powerstation and it's amazing to be able to come back there," she said.

"I've been finding the shows here super moving, there's a lot of kids going to their first shows following me on tour when I was at high school, and they were at high school, now they're in their 20s."

And Green Light hitmaker said she definitely wasn't taking any of it for granted.

"It's such an emotional experience touring here. I guess my thing is just always be moved by all of it, all the time," she said.

"I never get sick of it, never jaded."
