Fears for diver missing near Wellington since yesterday

Pilots, paramedics and patients came face to face in Auckland to talk over their life-changing experiences.

A search and rescue operation is underway in Makara near Wellington where a diver has been reported missing.

The diver was expected to return about 4pm last night and had been diving between Wharehou Bay and Pipinui Point.

A search and rescue team as well as the Westpac Rescue Helicopter has been called in to search the area.

His gear was found last night about 8pm.

A team of searchers is also looking for the man along the shoreline.
