Police have carried out a search warrant at an Upper Hutt address after shots were reportedly fired from a vehicle in the area this morning.
Police say the search included members of the Armed Offenders Squad and was in relation to ongoing issues between two groups of people that are known to each other.
"Police are following positive lines of inquiry," says Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Sears.
"In particular, investigators are appealing for any sightings of a blue Ford Falcon saloon seen in the Upper Hutt area early this morning," he says.
The vehicle is being sought after reports of shots fired from a car on Fergusson Drive this morning.
"Police are confident there is no ongoing risk to the general public, and that the incident this morning was not a random act," Detective Sears said.
