The Tongan community held a fundraiser for their rugby league heroes in Hamilton last night, raising over $8000.
Its widely known, Tongan players get just $30 a day for playing for their team in the Rugby League World Cup tournament.
Tongan winger Manu Vatuvei said the support from their fans has been amazing.
"We appreciate everything they've done for us. All we can do us just go out there and play and make them proud," said Vatuvei.
Waikato Stadium is on track for a sell-out for Tonga's match against the Kiwis tomorrow night.
