Kiwi pop star Lorde's Auckland concert on Sunday has been relocated because police say children under 18 are not allowed in the original venue, the Powerstation.

The show has been moved to the Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna, but it spells disappointment for some fans who hold All Ages tickets.

The Spinoff website which has announced the venue change on Twitter, says an accompanying adult holding a ticket for one of the shows next Tuesday or Wednesday will be able to attend the Sunday show at the Bruce Mason Centre with the under 18 ticket holder.

All Ages ticket holders who now can't attend Sunday's show will be able to get refunds.

And anyone, regardless of age, holding an All Ages ticket for the Tuesday and Wednesday shows will now be unable to attend the Powerstation shows on those dates.

Lorde - real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor - celebrated her 21st birthday on Tuesday.
