'You're a pain in the arse' - TOP candidate says Gareth Morgan told her to quit party in vulgar email

November 10, 2017
The Opportunities Party leader said putting a new Labour leader in place does not constitute sound policy, and that his remark was not a personal attack.

The Opportunities Party tax spokesperson Jenny Condie has taken to social media to expose an email sent to her by leader Gareth Morgan which asks her to resign from the party as she's a "pain in the arse."

The list candidate tweeted a screen shot of the email last night along with the caption, "So this happened today"

"Also, my TOP email address no longer works," Dr Condie added.

The email, sent by Mr Morgan, reads "Please just resign from the party - you're a pain in the arse."

Her twitter bio now says she is a 'former' list candidate for the party.

Mr Morgan has pumped some of his own personal fortune into the party, which gained 2.4 per cent of the vote at this year's election and failed to win a seat.

Mr Morgan was accused of insensitivity this week after he tweeted a seemingly-callous response to news of the death of Paddles - Jacinda Ardern's cat.

Paddles was apparently hit by a car and killed on Tuesday, leading to an outpouring of grief and sympathy online for the popular pet.

Mr Morgan replied to a news article with "was it out and about wandering? If so does this reflect the value the PM puts on NZ wildlife?"

Instead of tweeting about the email incident involving Ms Condie last night, Mr Morgan used his account to ask if anyone thinks "the PM's not a hypocrite having taxpayers fund conservation while her cat wanders & kills at will?"
